A Fisherman

I perch in
never ending constantine
for brummagem
attention seeker
at the edge of
lupine bank
taking shape of
talamak in stance
with bear's claw
waiting for salmon

if you can fish with your hands you are more skilled than i ...and you had me looking up words tonight...so brummagem is imitation jewelry or birmingham? if imitation jewelry it turns this rather interesting...

Cool write Anthony, love the short phrased lines and the nice mixing in of specific terminology. Thanks

Waiting for something flashy to sink your teeth into?

yes, i had to run to the dictionary as well, but i love that.
and i love this poem, so short, concise and filled with one perfect image.

A glittery picture, sir! Loved it.

yes...well I...er...ah...
I had to seek the definitions on some (how about many?) of the words...
the poem is 'pleasing' to the ear, I like the opening line ''I perch...for brummagem'' it's a heavy introduction. then the address: ''attention seeker'' all in all it's a well sounding piece....I just wish I could understand it. LOL. there's some obvious heavy allusions going on.

well structured, pleasing sound and reads well.

Love the imagery of your words and the photo to enhance the poem.

Just like Brian, you had me looking up words. And again, the imagery is powerful.

Great imagery. Yes, I'll admit, I too had to look some words up. But this is a very intriguing write, and I sense there are layers here to peel back.

hey anthony - excellent application of ideas and mental picture projection (i didnt want to say imagery ;) dude bear claws - what is it with bears feet? - i love bears feet - theyre cute as hell, unless they re ripping off your fucking face hahahah. this is a potent punch up the snoooz - and i enjoyed every letter of every word therein.

Every writer's heart is a fisherman of words....this is a beautiful poem Anthony...much said in few lines! :-)

It sounds wonderful. I'm not sure if you're just going for the sound of the words or for a meaning as well. There are cool images once I finish Googling and it then means something to me, which is all a poem needs. :-)

Very very lovely imagery. I could see them waiting, watching the waters flow and ready to strike at first sight. Fabulous!

Fishing for more than salmon, I say. Thanks for this cool write ~

I feel scared for the salmon! Not a word wasted. Excellent :)

I had to look up a few words...but that never hurts my feelings...I love learning new words. This has great imagery...I don't think it's fish you're hunting for either :)

Nice imagery, had me searching too...that's always a good thing.

Salmon is my very favorite kind of sushi. So I am jealous of your bear's claw.

Hey, that's where I'm from! Not Constantine, obviously.

I'm pleased with myself for knowing all of these words (though I guess that's more from being a history major than in any way actually intelligent.)

Yours is a great piece. Read in to that what you will sir.

Anthony, what I like about this poem is that it says such a lot in few words. "bears claw / waiting for salmon." Captures so much right there!
