Man x Guitar

a lonely guitar
a lonely soul
create harmonies
as powerful as
steel strings
catching lightning
this is love
passion affirmed
with every strum of a chord
morning walks
with ol' no name
around my back
swingin'

yeah man i feel you..there is just something about letting your fingers dance those frets and just letting it wail...ok it wails in my hands...some people can make it really weep...maybe it is those that hear that it makes wail...lol....

Wonderful poem! I love the electric guitar, though I can't play. Closest I get is Guitar Hero, and that's not as close as you get with this poem. Peace, Linda

This is great. Totally reminded me of the blues - like a blues an walking down the road with an old friend on his back. Great imagery and captured the essence of music - the passion and how it speaks only to you in a way no one else will hear or understand

Very nice. I need to pick my guitar up again. To say I am rusty is an understatement. I really like the ending lines:

"morning walks
with ol' no name
around my back
swingin'"

'Steel strings catching the lightning' just lovely concise peice!

My father took many walks on his old acoustic, and still does on his now bass guitar.

Thanks for sharing :)

I long for some kind of musical talent...just not there. But I do love to listen.

Really nice. Now I wish I could hear the tunes this man plays on his guitar. :)

Wow Anthony - Love the way your work is maturing. Each read of yours I feel you getting tighter, more focused, zoning in on the emotion that you feel, the image you want to portray, the "unnamed" that lies between. Of course, modern music equates with the guitar and the guitar is the instrument of passion. The electric just sent out the sounds of its nervous system! Excellent sir.

We have a house full of musicians. My son made a guitar rack that sits loaded with a half dozen lonely guitars until they come and grab one. Ah, the power of strings! Of Love!...

That affinity is why people name their instruments, isn't it? I have a Yamaha RGX A2, and she is my mistress, when away from my muse.
