Death wears a crown
Set with a golden dove
Surrounded by gems in
Blackened blood burgundy
Such headgear holds the image
Of a halo and the weight
Of a lifeless vessel
Like guilt upon the shoulders
Like the ruby eyes of a bird

Every stich of verse in this gem of poetry is fabulous! It reads marvelously and the imagery is fascinating. The diction pitch perfect. Man, I love the work you are producing poetically. Keep carving your poetic path to greatness, Anthony. I'm watching.
hey!!!! something new! i like...smiles...good to see you brother...
like the contrast of the crown of death being a halo...and a lifeless vessel...lots packed into that...
and then with the guilt as well...solid imagery as well with the ruby eyes of the bird...
wow..very stark and effective imagery all throughout...loved this verse.
...such could be a noble departure... nicely... smiles...
Lovely images.
A great write. Good to see you again.
So much is contained in these tight words. Very beautifully written.
Short and sweet. Great Imagery
Death wears a crown
Set with a golden dove...great work on the images and cool seeing you at dVerse..
Graphic piece, hard to take your eyes off it...
Eight terse lines that reeled me in. Very nice.
Oh wow, this is amazing. Every line is loaded with provocative phrases and imagery. Love this
This has great imagery that screams at you..the picture speaks volume.
Wow, I love this poem. Especially these lines:
"Such headgear holds the image
Of a halo and the weight
Of a lifeless vessel"
And the ending ("the ruby eyes of a bird").
fantastic imagery in here. Love the image of death with a dove, very strong.
What a gem this poem. Agree with many above great imagery.
I love this brief but direct piece. Death wears a crown. And the dove to me represents peace in death and the other specifics represent how it is the same no matter what. Thanks for sharing this. Also, I love the photo.
