Wonderful pairing.. intriguing how you concentrate on the hands. The howls from the hungry wolfs.. are so unsettling..

something different from you, brother; exciting, angry, your own kind of howling. Is this a form, or just your own creativity? They are sterling stanzas that are so good, they seem to be a preamble for more, a series, a haibun, a peek into hypocrisy.

Ah. Love the corresponding images. My favorite bit would have to be:
"like knives singing me / to sleep".

That "knives singing me to sleep" - darkly powerful line. Both of these stanzas end in a most unexpected way...leaves me unsettled...and wishing for more.

how I dare myself
further just to know
how I swear by rain
words come and go...

even the taped wrists
a madman insists
are why there are

your piece, to me, is
a purity rhythm
let's a reader see
how you see
beneath things...

Deep, dark and definitely thought provoking...made me so curious about the provocation/story behind these lines.

I admire the side by side images, each distinct yet darkly compelling with the knives & hungry wolfs ~

The title is intriguing too, like a middle lane or number 2 ~

This is intense, Anthony. And those knives singing one to sleep are definitely quite foreboding. I do love the very thoughtful pairing.

Pairing the two stanzas side by side is incredible. I was...you were...your best yet.

Your poem is different from what you usually write, Anthony. The imagery is very powerful. I can feel pain and how it seems to affect the poet's inability to move on.

As Claudia says, this is unsettling, and rather frightening. Your skill with words is awesome.

Quite unsettling but hypnotic.

Oh. This is exceptional, Anthony.

Anthony, powerful pairing here! And the way you linked the hands in both, the blood flowing. Terrific work!

I know this feeling from
Church.. the boy with
the bright and smiling
face.. the snickers behind
me as i walk freely and
gracefully to be me as
i am for LOVE.. and no
matter what I am this makes
me just as angry as you.. at
the hypocrisy that never loves
as humans truly are born to do..:)

I have heard knives "singing," when struck against another metal. The sound is in my ears now, ringing, unsettling. A powerful work, Anthony! Amy

This is such a wonderful word painting, literally and metaphorically. The form you chose has as much impact as your powerful words.

I would love to know the inspiration for this one. I read it a few times and it took me to a mysterious place.

Raw expression of someone who has known the oppression of a religious figure. That is not how it should be but, sadly, it's a reality in all-too-many person's experience. Succinct and powerful writing.
