Misshapen claws leave permanent marks
Across the cheeks of inhibition
Letting restraints drip & dry in ugly fashion
Milk on my tongue
Green military covert ops invade
My yellow eye
Teeth sharp enough to bite through leather
Nails long like blades
Cutting any vagrant dumb enough to misbehave
Wildcat.
Nine lives is plenty
I'm having my fun
Stop the natural time cycle
Live on your own Earth
Of course hate still exists
This is no fantasy
Torment given to the strong
Kindness given to the weak
Vertical sandboxes filled with treasures
That always seemed worthless
A flow of hand me down locks
With no hole for a key
A bank of dollar signs ruined
By foreign governments
Wildcat.
Jungle
Green & free
Standing
horizontally
Squared
Putting on airs to climb for fruit
Seeking the meat of truth makes a meal of glue
That sticks to the roof of our mouths
Silently revealing pain of departing foreskin

Warfare and the Wild. Which one wins? Great flow, I loved the shock of the last stanza.
Nice write

@Awdures
moved by your poem, an interesting poem
Nice, wild touch of imagery in there - the continued pull back to the image of the jungle made this one very vivid in its pushing of the topic. This one shakes you - hits right at the core of some very real world questions today, and I agree with Shawn, that last stanza's a shocker. The word usage, the description, really hit. Fine work.
Another fine poem, Anthony. It had an after the end finality feel to it. Somewhere between social commentary and science fiction. Nice mashup.

Anthony, the more I read your work, the more I realize an undercurrent of social critique underneath the layers of well phrased descriptors. Creative and well done. Cheers
Excellent poem. Wish I had nine lives like a cat.
