The roads stretch from
white moon to black sun
over a span of two weeks
everyone starts to look
like paper cutouts
barefoot on the sidewalk
even sadism seems sane
as I watch poets
photograph
words as they speak

the comfort of exposure
in search of unconditional
desire;
nudity, like the mind of a

I love the dreamy state of your poem.. there is a vision of a heat-wave, but those photographed words took me by complete surprise.
ha. def surreal a bit...interesting the swing between the white moon and black sun....between exposure and anonymity....the symbolism of a black sun as well...the migration of the paper cut outs on bare feet...cool title as well...it all plays well together in a rather prickly way, to me.
I specially like the opening lines, white moon to black sun ~ I wonder if poets search for anonymity or for comfort of exposure ~ Intriguing title as well ~
I like what Grace said a about poets searching "comfort of exposure"; it's like the visceral need I have to do stand up open mic performances of my words, or stand as an actor mouthing someone else's words; loved this poem, brother; much more into the abstract dada landscape than some earlier ones, where urban angst was worn like an angry hat.
Well done Anthony. >KB
The ending wraps up this poem with a jolt - really effective......"like the mind of a sociopath". I also really liked the barefoot paper cutouts. Cool.
Deep! my friend Deep.
Your words are the power of passion and creativity.
I always love your style of writing. :)
Piercing. Not sure if you're commenting on poets desire to be known, read despite the pain of exposure. I like the last lines and all the symbolism. You have a great mind Anthony.

Just love it Anthony
Liked this surreal poem . A mercurial feel of neither being here nor there this or that...turmoil and discomfort conveyed. Nice work !
that is a very nice of you to say how heard it is to comeback............ from a far away to accomadate
And when there is no home....
Enjoyed the surreal reality of this.
Provacative imagery as opposites contrast. Definitely surreal.
Searching for anonymity:
the comfort of exposure
Anonymity and exposure while direct opposites both can ironically accord comfort. Great thoughts Anthony!

as I watch poets photograph
words as they speak.... ha... what a surreal piece... for me speaks a bit of the balance between privacy and exposure that we walk as artists in so many ways
Ooph...'even sadism seems sane' - brill
I wondered if a vacation of two weeks may have inspired this...your need to get back (home) to the comfort of writing and finding that balance between anonymity and exposure. Cool, Anthony!
Very different - and appealing to both the dark and light sides.
Photographing words... Cool concept
Has an Ezra Pound feel to it - don't know much about photography, but I like this notion of exposing (and exhibiting) even as we speak, even as we create those words... with ulterior motives perhaps...
