X̶̷̸̲̲̿

                                                                              X

                                                                 Hair: like bondage

                             it
              wraps            wraps
                   and        and
                        wraps
                  and        and
             wraps           wraps

   around the arms and
not only stops movement
  but it slows down time

Bound by the hair on God's knuckles, it forces
them to reflect on every memory they
wish they could forget; thus, the
enjoyment in pulling out
your hair is found.

I know it hurts but continue sipping love nectar
until you're unrecognizable

be my bitch                                                                                          be what I'm looking for

and water me

First of all, I like the intriguing shape of this poem....and I can just picture that long hair wrapping & slowing down time; and next time I see God I will be checking his knuckles. Smiles.

The pulling of hair and wrapping and God, make me think of flagelants - the pain we sense when pulling the hair makes us feel.

really cool structure anthony...wicked cool closure on this....its got edge but also a tenderness...it was the boiund by the hair on gods knuckles stanza that really stood out to me...as i processed that mentally...and the symbolism of that...

I love the format though like the hair wrapping around and around ~ Hair like a bondage, and that ending line, water me, really struck me ~

A very challenging & unique challenge Anthony thanks ~

I like the layout of your poem, Anthony, and how you end up with a kind of love plea.

streetwise, yet tender under the scruff; like others the hair of God's knuckles knocked my ass out; & it is good to see the shape, the form of the lines emancipated, free as fruit flies fluttering through rips in the screen door. Got appointment today so will catch up on the trail later; terrific prompt, brother.

Interesting layout here - and I can only imagine that the web image does not quite correspond with the vision you had in your mind! (I read an interesting preface to May Sarton's poetry about the challenges of poem layouts in ebooks).

I love the texture that hair ads to art/ and poetry.Your format is almost like a mask one of the masks above.

That was an innovative way to present your poem and your words are always crisp with a snap here and there..Thanks for hosting tonight.

So much to like about this, Anthony. The weaving of words like a braid, almost. "Bound by the hair on God's knuckles..." the god we made like us. And as someone said, above, the texture of this. Great! Fun prompt.

A very creative way of presenting your poem. It reminds me of the braiding motion as you have beautifully shown in your words.

Excellent prompt tonight!

God, time, love, lost love, growth… all woven together … "braided" into one. At least that's what I got out of it.

I felt the pain...the redemption (reminds me of The Mission), the being bound by God...great images, Anthony! And thanks for the cool prompt.

I agree with what many others have said regarding the imagery you present...the bondage, hair on God's knuckles, water, etc. Excellent concrete/visual piece.

The aesthetics of this poem is truly captivating... definitely imitates the natural flow of hair... You've really created some amazing visuals in this powerful piece of poetry <3 I especially like the phrase "Bound by the hair on God's knuckles"... I think most of us do... smiles
