your heart is like a frozen waterfall
and I'm climbing your icy depths
without a stitch of clothing
because I can't stop thinkin'
with my dick
these hard-ons
don't faze you anymore
'cause you know me so well
you know when pain is hidden
in the inky-blacks of my eyes
or maybe it's just you're
used to typical niggas
you read me like an open book
sprawled out on the floor

An ice like this is hard to melt.. Somehow I remember how we cannot find the right tools to reach through those frozen cages..
for all the water in the world, there are still people dying of thirst...thinking with our dick...well, yeah...it becomes a pretty shallow...and sounds like she has her own issues with a frozen heart...and somehow we humans still make it....
I really liked the metaphor - 'your heart is a frozen waterfall' which really portrays a feeling extremely well!
those people that can read us like open books always scare me a bit and make me feel my vulnerability even more...
I like the metaphor of: your heart is like a frozen waterfall -
Some people do read us like an open book ~ Enjoyed this one Anthony ~
Ha - great minds think alike - I also went for human coldness this time round.
Rather a chilling one, Anthony - fearsome and fearless, if you know what I mean!
The little head never thinks too deeply about the emotional preparedness of the object of its battering; it never took those classes in sensitivity or women's rights. Being a man is living with a red necked wood pounder living permanently in our pants; clever take on the snow prompt though; enjoyed it.
sadness here, but one shouldn't give up...perhaps rest awhile
Being read like a book is an exposure too far...
This gives me an image of vulnerability... I feel it.
We do tend to fixate our minds on a person and become prey to our own attachment.
I felt your words.

I love the way the title defines this poem... And the ache you've woven so deftly throughout. The pain of the speaker really resonates.
I liked the metaphorical use of 'frozen' and 'icy' in your poem, Anthony. I guess being read like a book depends on the generosity of the reader.
Most excellent! I enjoyed this very, very much.
Bold and beautiful...not in a soap opera kind of way.
Takes someone special to know when pain is hidden behind your eyes
Truly its nice to have a heart on for life.. strange how words do that for heart and senses tied together like that but truly tHere is no separation.. to repress either.. is to die in affect.. when all of human is tied.. to part of human bound up and tight....no longer light.....:)
Hmmm...a lot said here..I also like the metaphor and the vulnerability expressed...
I wonder if one who doesn't love you, can read you like a book. Perhaps. I like the passion in this, the anger and the vunerability.
For whatever reason, the image didn't open for me--but you've painted the emotions so vividly I can see the fragility AND strength in this, Anthony. You have the ability to put into words what we all feel within the context of our own lives. Bravo.
