Our skin twists like Lynchian art
As my pores widen and
Long for the scent of your hair
The length of my heart doesn't compare
Rinse my scars in a shower of
Blood, sweat and tears
While the stains on my brittle bones
Last beyond the years
Abstract is the flesh beneath
Your shoulder blades
Cut me open and lay inside my cage
Whispers of pale pink against dark red
Under the melanin of your brown skin
Far from a curse
For you, I am a fool
A bitter juniper pond, I wait to immerse

hey only fools fall in love man, or invite them beneath the rib cage...but i will be a fool any day...smiles.
Evocative and corporeal images you paint tonight!
I love the "Lynchian art." This is very cool.
Love hurts apparently :) I had to look up Lynchian... I slept through cinematography class.
Anthony! Wicked flow to a wicked write! Fantastic imagery, awesome language, wonderfully weaved! I humbly bow to you Poet...loved it!
The act of letting someone in, loving them, letting them love you is such a risk. I like the way that your poem simultaneously narrates the "violence" of this act and its necessity.
Intense energy and imagery. Awesome poem. I love the line "Whispers of pale pink against dark red", and the excellent closer.
I love your passion in pain... nothing quite like loving someone in it and through it...
letting someone in....such beautiful pain.
bravo my friend
As a big Lynchian art fan i loved this line and the poetics surrounding it - another V.cool write Anthony - always great to read your inspired poems

It doesn't get any more wrong or hard than the feelings here--visualizing opening the rib cage inviting in the other--total surrender, yet eyes wide open, crying blood. Fine writing, below the skin.
Anthony, this is an amazing showcase of your talent. Absolutely love this write. Superb word choice and the tone you took. Really a great write
do not listen to only fools fall in love it is part of live and we all need someone to love and to love us

Are we talking David Lynch, "Blue Velvet," "Twin Peaks"? You never cease to amaze and entertain me, Anthony. Great, visceral (I guess quite literally so) images. Pulse-poundingly you.
Cut me open and lay inside my cage

Oh, I must smile. There is such longing behind the contrasting imagery. Well done.
