At First Sight

I watched you like a play in a field of strawberries.
I imagined you were telling my life story to an audience
full of strangers; and I, too afraid to have a seat.
So, I studied you from afar and resorted to
reading lips as if I had gone deaf.

The Bull Walking on Blood and Soil

A mass of gray in death causing turmoil
Like the spiral of a ram's horn
Conspiracies that surround the goat head
Are the reason no one reads good news
Unless there's speculations
Of pyramid symbolism

Theories become irrefutable evidence
Colorblind like a bull to every matador
Waving a red cape
Charging at a double edge sword
Like a nigga to a fire hose

You can't walk in my shoes
I have hooves
Among the million man march
Of pale soles

The ground we both walk on
Is the same but for some
It feels like broken glass and
Dirty needles bent from
Being passed around
Like a house built on blut und boden

*Blut und boden - German for blood and soil, is Nazi ideology;
synonymous with racism.*

Gēras

My flesh resembles that of a stone
Hardened by the erosion of reality
I witness like a fly on the wall
Camouflaged in blue smoke quartz.

Sioux

I laid with you as an eloquent nude
Accepting every hour
As another eccentricity
In a bath of your lemon curd
A climax of euphoria
From your full lips
Down to the fat of your hips
Counting thy blessings as
One torn rib of man
Creating a cannibal's cave in the sheets
While two tongues wilt like dying roses
In an eclipse of atmosphere reminiscent of 3 a.m.
You light a cigarette while I play the flute
For this starless night as the face
Of a hungry child graces the television set
Actors paid to enslave beggars
For a petty flashing light
Encircled in smoke rings
I still breathe fullness as pure
As my once virgin tongue
Now weaving between your teeth
As you slowly capture me in your  jaw
For pleasures unknown
Plotting revenge like a sadistic fiend
I am a cross at the scene of a tragedy
Overshadowed by tall blades of grass
A venomous hold sharp like
The structure of your face
Cheek bones give me lacerations
Along my spine with intentions to please
Gagged and bound
I have your disease

Rob you at gunpoint, crackhead/alcoholic niggas
Rape ya daughters rape ya sons
Heartless ass niggas
Gun totin' tech-9 4-5 stutin' niggas
Ain't man enough to take care of they own damn kids
Lazy no good niggas
Wifebeater wearin' abusive husband
Stealin' from ya loved ones
Ghetto ass niggas

Get outta my neighborhood niggas
You ain't welcome here niggas
Them niggas need Jesus
They spawn from the Devil, that's why their skin so dark
It's a curse I tell ya! A curse!
I'll be damned if I let them
Lil thievin' niggas around my kids
Go back to Africa, chase those lions
And throw spears from the highest tree niggas

My niggas wear pants that hang off they asses
My niggas are straight G's
We don't take no shit from no
"Wanna be gay ass white boy niggas"
My niggas drank 40's and talk to
Fine ass bitches that look like Beyonce
No dark bitches tho, my niggas'll kick they
Tar lookin' asses to the curb

My niggas real
Them fake ass niggas wear tight ass jeans
And look like some rock listenin' emo motherfuckas
We don't want no helpin' hand
That's what the oozi is for
Feel me, my nigga?
Don't hate the playa hate the game
We strugglin' so we hustlin' rocks
Like Young Jeezy back in the day
See, you ain't a nigga unless you from the streets
Fuck the goddamn suburbs my nigga
We stay in the hood and we run it too
Cus we niggas, real ass niggas

Juniper

Our skin twists like Lynchian art
As my pores widen and
Long for the scent of your hair
The length of my heart doesn't compare
Rinse my scars in a shower of
Blood, sweat and tears
While the stains on my brittle bones
Last beyond the years
Abstract is the flesh beneath
Your shoulder blades
Cut me open and lay inside my cage
Whispers of pale pink against dark red
Under the melanin of your brown skin
Far from a curse
For you, I am a fool
A bitter juniper pond, I wait to immerse

Believer

Today is the day
I've planned since the moment
I turned fourteen
Unclear and ignorant
A love, premature
Nobody sings in this old building
I did, but shouts covered my voice
Like sirens in hurricane season
I've decided
A boy, now a man, no one gave the time of day to
A few would wave, and I always said "Hi."

A smirk
A mumble
A knife in the back

Plastic bag on my forearm
Full of liquor
I met with a bum from around the corner
He had no teeth and a heart of gold
He had nothing to give yet gave more
Than all the Donald Trumps of the world
A shadow man bathed in light
He had no roof, not even a cardboard box

He is, on the outside, my inner self
Like a copycat with no skin
Hailstorms from my eyes came pouring down
They penetrated my ribcage
So the bruises never fade away

As I said my goodbyes,
The Bum wanted to give me a penny
I told him I had no use for it
He said "I know it seems useless, but keep it...
I found it face up; I'm passing you the good luck"
Though luck is for the believers and the foolish
I knew all too well the meaning of useless
As if I'm a wordsmith rehearsing
With his dictionary
I've been through hell and back
Ain't no penny ever save me
Ain't no God at my doorstep
So what is luck?
I thought about it as the
Hot rooftop burned my feet
But I'm not a believer, so
Face down, this penny will land.

$$$ Bags

A crumudgeon, to coliginus moon
Shine downs the throat of apathy
And into the spines of Somalian
Bloodlines like fish freshly paralyzed
hoppin' for breath just across
From a fine mansion with a moat
Genius! True genius like a nonchalant
Einstein with eyes made of diamond
George Washington for skin
And sheep's fur atop his skull
Under the microlense dead skin cells
Nickels & dimes of a quarter
Credit rating for inflatable baboons floating
With greed as in deadly sin merging
With an amendment
Our office cut like unwanted limbs
Dressed in pressed suits
Disfigured bodies packed in briefcases
And returned in such disorder
Killing the lower class dismorphic pleasure

Devil's Food

its like i saw the beautiful face of grief
in the naked image of the mirror
found solace over worn out shoes
with caked courage smeared on red bottoms
like velvet for footsteps
and fork-teeth for footprints,
a layer of arrogance covering
my sugar coated flesh
like salt on slave wounds
an across my back
raspberry blood drippings stain my ancestors
devouring another slice

(Brothers)

a piano with blood keys
blistering thy fingerprint
like fire eating wood rings
a pastel tokyo resembling afghanistan
the oblivious disciple ruling over
knights armoured guards kings queens
day and night
whilst badgers weep
he spots a poor man - creep
unworthy of bread crumbs
as if he has no torso
share thy ribs with twin
for so he wouldn't be king
