Abstract Love

I put my feet on the ground where they belong
I move my mouth to sing another sad song
Purple flowers and a weeping tree
Arranged so beautifully and the sun so pale while
The homeless are talking of fine wine
And cherry cocktails
I get a little smile on my face
And I can feel a change
And I can feel the same

I want to hold that abstract love
I want to taste that abstract love
I want to feel that abstract love
I want to have that abstract love

Sometimes I want to catch an eye
And see but I'm to shy to look pass me
So I just keep on walking down those endless,
Endless streets
Towards a flower bed to lay my aching head
And go to sleep and dream of perfect pillows on the sea
When I feel alone, but I was standing all a long

I want to hold that abstract love
I want to taste that abstract love
I want to feel that abstract love
I want to have that abstract love

When their sun is born and my nights arrive
I can touch the sky made of blacks blues and whites

I know I have that abstract love

Hey I'd like to hear it read! It's weird, I think I already know what you sound like. Glad you sprung this poem up, it was very intense!

What lovely lines and the idea of this abstract love and that to know it is to know a higher level of loves bliss...nice work Anthony....bkm

Ah..the music flows...abstract as the sea..a melody for you and for me. flower beds and sea pillows..nice imagery, my dear. Gay

Very much like a song. Lots of excellent images as well. I like the contradictory picture of someone lost in a crowd, finding love there.

Aahhh... the power of that abstract love indeed... how it comes to you when it feels like...and how it moves away when it feels it... whheeww

"sea pillows" -- love your imagery, my friend..
Can I please listen to you sing/play this one? I KNOW it'll sound wonderful!
