Augur

I felt a type of way
The kind of feeling when death
Is about to strike
A jolt like brother & sister
An urge like a painter's
A pain like a poet's
The ache of a mother
Facing her childhood
And children alike

Nice word flow--the last metaphor particularly hit me and made me think about it.

Oh, Anthony. This piece is pure gold. Honestly, it shakes me for it beauty. "A pain like a poet's" gives me chills for it inherent beauty. Where did that come from my man? It's shortness adds to its brilliance. Great poetry is written by great men, great write.!

Growing up and finding glory with pain. I would protect you if I could. But I send you an origami crane that stands for 1000 and it brings you blessings and courage to face time and multitudes. Carry on brave poet!

I love reading poetry out loud and this is one of my favorites so far this evening. Strong and incredibly deep especially considering its length. Wow

Facing her childhood and child alike...there is an entire societal study waiting to be written on those words alone. Anthony, this is loaded with layers and avenues to chase...your intent, perhaps obvious to some, has me reeling. I looking back, I'm looking forward, I'm seeing my child coming up in this world compared to the world I knew at her age...and honestly...I'm left scared to death...that's a mighty potent little word weave there, Poet!

Each example adds another dimension to that fear they all share. Nice piece, Anthony.
