Gēras

My flesh resembles that of a stone
Hardened by the erosion of reality
I witness like a fly on the wall
Camouflaged in blue smoke quartz.

Ah, a fly on the wall can definitely witness many things. An obscure observer of so many things that go on. Out of sight & all seeing.

I wrote a poem about my mother, long passed, called FLESH & STONE. Really liked what you did with the poem, each line has great insight & strength.

Personification with color - great image and better text. The blues go deep here!

"Hardened by the erosion of reality" and yet the passion of the piece renders it totally forgivable. Great use of color in this~

Oh, this is wonderful, really packed full of imagery. The erosion of reality gets us all, doesn't it? Good thing we have poetry to hold us together. smiles

Wow, powerful images here! The idea of skin being like stone because of eroding realities really resonates with me, Anthony.

Life is fragile, reality hard and your poem is cool as blue smoke quartz!

I enjoyed that the elements of reality and illusion are both present and suspended. The sentience and in-animation elements play well against each other. Very nice. Thanks.

granite - hard timeless unmovable - a nice contrast for the dragonfly.

Ah, what a beast reality can be, eroding all that is lovely in us! Wonderful reinterpretation of a beautiful photo!

You've packed a lot of imagery into this micro poem. Love "erosion of reality."

My, i love thsi so much. The metaphor of flesh being a stone...eroded by reality....just stunning! And so cutting and real and vivid. I completely relate to that emotion. I couldn't have expresses it better. It's sad that life hurts us so much that we are forced to turn into ourselves and hide for fear of being completely sawed to dust. Like Ralph Waldo aid, "society is fatal."

Oh, yes. reality erodes, and we do see it all...

Your first two lines are terrific (as the rest are). They grabbed my attention quickly.
